Set in my hometown of San Antonio, Texas, Stucco Ornithology stands as a survey of the material & color makeup of the local environment. It is mediated through codes of dress found in thrift stores scattered around the city.
Four models have each been assigned colors to be dressed with. They are instructed to wear their own bottoms and shoes to observe what tension can occur between their personal items and newly styled additions. This group of individuals has been selected to accurately reflect the friends and family I have grown up with.
Labor-adjacent materials such as wood, concrete, and metal along with crafty elements such as foam, paper, and trinkets collide with mechanic coats, plaid shirts, tweed dresses, and athletic wear. The result of this assemblage forms an intimate representation of the way in which I’ve grown to percieve my environment and the people within it.
